[UV, VIS, IR] breaking ice, mutispectral

This is a UV-VIS-IR multispectral image that I call "breaking ice"
(UV=blue, IR=red). It has been composed of three shots:
UV - VIS - IR and assigned to blue, green, red channels subsequently:

The UV image (ultraviolet 300-400nm):

The visual image (400-700nm):

The IR image (infrared, >700nm):

Isn't it interesting, how IR contrary to the visual and especially ultraviolet
shot penetrates the ice surface and makes that leaf so clearly visible?
UV however bounces back right from the ice surface, so "illuminates"
the ice nicely.
