Blogs?

Until just recently, I've had a blog where I occasionally posted things political. I've decided I'd rather have a blog that deals with art of all kinds, including photography, of course. I was wondering who else has a blog about photography? I"d like to link to as many as possible.

Thanks! Got it.

My blog is Tilting at Windmills. I'd also welcome guest articles if anyone is inclined. They could be casual thoughts about art/photography. Scholarly articles are not required.

My blog http://blog.bluerockphotography.com is new, so not too much content yet, though some about my web site, some about photography, and some about the landscape itself that I photograph. For those who have done blogs for awhile, it'd be interesting to know their experiences as they learned how to keep them flowing, interesting and just generally attractive (not to hijack your thread, Rachel!).

Hi Mike,

Your blog url http://blog.bluerockphotography.com/ results in a "403 Forbidden" error. And your main url http://bluerockphotography.com/ comes up showing a blank page.

Cheers,

Update: So far I have linked to Charles Webster, Mike Bailey, Cem Usakligil, Kathy Rappaport, Jaimie Johnson, Jim Collum, Ken Tanaka, and Doug Kerr.

Mike, in response to your question, blogging is tough and can be a real prison. Previously, my blog was a more political/feminist blog and that is a nightmare. However, one thing I have learned by watching others is that collaborations work well, either in the form of two or more bloggers joining together or soliciting guest columnists. Also, with Wordpress you can "tag surf" and find related articles to discuss and link to.

Blogging is great, ... and certainly can be a tough road as well.
Things that happen in your daily life can hijack your blog, moving you away at times from what your intentions are, which is a blog about photography. Sure has happened to me a couple of times over the past 5 years or so.
Still, I enjoy it when things don't go haywire, and I have myself in a good creative groove!

Will have to pay you guys a visit.
For now, here is mine.

Hi Rachel,

I have a photo blog that I use to share images and to create an evolving portfolio.

http://photo.anilmungal.com/

My plan was to post an image every week, on average, but real life gets in the way and I find I post mostly on a monthly basis, or at least in spurts. It takes a real commitment to keep it going.

Cem, Bart... I struggle with web site security and doubt if I'll ever have it just right, but think I may have fixed access problems for you.

Rachel thanks!

I imagine the more polarizing a blog is, the more draining it can be handling both supportive and hostile people.

Of course we can't all be writers like the penultimate Mike Johnston with his blog: http://theonlinephotographer.typepad.com/the_online_photographer/blog_index.html

But one can strive to reach that kind of open tone and spirit, difficult as it might be to stay even-minded all the time, regardless of the subject!
