If this is the great Ganges River, Fahim. I am not sure I would want to participate, as there is a reputation for mixture of ashes, sewage and offerings all arriving in the waters, one way or another.
Likely as not, the locals have been exposed since childhood to the particular germs around there, but someone from the outside might succumb to some undesirable outcome!
Notice the local indigenous, (and quite innocent), use of the Swastica!
Does the food serve as an “offering” to deities the folk there worship and who if anyone gets to eat it?
