I have a Canon Extender EF 2X II in like new condition, with caps. I would be interested in an even swap for an Extender EF 1.4X II.

If you like, wire me at doug.kerr@att.net.

Thanks.

Best regards,

Doug

I have sold my EF 2X II and purchased an EF 1.4X ("I").

This inquiry is closed.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Doug

Hi, Cem,

Glad to hear that Doug. What are the "shortcomings" or "advantages" of the 1.4X Mk I versus the Mk II/III, if there are any?

Supposedly, from "I" to II, the changes were the addition of weather sealing gaskets and an improvement in internal reflection blocking. There was supposedly no change in optical design. (That latter is not true of the 2X "I" to II.)

From II to III, the actual optical design was changed (but I don't know what kind of improvements that yielded) and a microprocessor is included to intervene in the interaction between lens and body (but again, I don't know all that accomplishes).

Best regards,

Doug
