Rhinoceros?

Driftwood has a dignified sort of magic about it, doesn't it Stuart? The magic involves the wood when it was alive and growing, its demise by whatever cause, the unpredictable journey to its present location, and the effects of exposure to the elements. Your images capture this and also include a nicely balanced background to provide context.

Stuart,

Something fascinating about driftwood. I feel that the shapes, cleaned by the sea of any lose bark, is something like converting a picture with confusing colors to monochrome. We just see shapes, postures, textures and identities without so much distraction.

I need to find a piece of my own!

Agreed. I always felt an attraction to any driftwood I have come across. And the urge to photograph it. Unfortunately, the results have not always been satisfactory.
