Hello everyone! It's great to see this site up and running, and to be among such distinguished company.
I am a long time (30+ years) amateur shooter, with a strong interest in landscapes and wildlife. When the digital revolution began, I said that I would stick with film until I could get an EOS-3 (my last film camera) equivalent for less than $3,000. Well, the 5D isn't a 3D, but I did get my full frame digital for less than $3K, so I am a happy shooter.
The capabilities of the 5D have also kindled an interest in portrait and street shooting. I have much to learn and I'm enjoying every minute of it.
I'm also spending many many hours exploring the mysteries of raw conversion, using both DPP and ACR. I expect to learn a lot from forum members here.
Thanks for having me.
