Effective lighting, Doug. One of the tricky aspects to photographing these guys is avoiding blowing out the white head of the adults.

Besides my admiration of the bird, (to survive pesticide-contaminated prey and hunters with rifles), and being so regal, the picture itself is a winner.

The composition, having a branch crossing the lower part of the bird, puts it into its environment, akin to a nest! Moreover the large round element of green on the left is a perfect balance to its placement in the frame, quite elegant.

Damn fine picture, finished with aplomb as the beak is open, ....., calling, to declare something important!
