Default Has linking cell phone Sexting private images to Child porn gone too far?

With the ubiquitous use of cell phones, intimacy between people can be extended though a private cell phone message. People now can whisper personal love notes through their tiny handsets. When it's a girl showing a nude picture of herself, is it fair game for their schools to view and judge harshly. More, is it right for men in the police and district attorneys office to first oggle at them and then prosecute the teenager?

Here's the latest serious case that startles me, "Suit returns Pa. 'sexting' district to spotlight"

What do you think? Should cell phones be considered private and not subject to unreasonable search and seizure? Should children be then treated as sex perverts and offenders requiring to be registered at all or for ever?

I see a drift of puritanical fascism here. What do you think. For sure we can't stop the cell phone phenomenon. Just how do we learn to live with the resultant easy to make "sexting" between intimate friends. Is this just a new way of expression affection between people or is it evil?

Is this the appropriate category for this thread? Maybe we are taking ' let's chat ' a notch up.

Complicated case, I think. The girl's argument seems to be a valid one. The officials were concerned about sexual violence, well, they must know something about it that she doesn't or doesn't care... until it's too late! ( a little black humor :-) )

There are not enough facts or circumstances within the article, from which an opinion may be formed.
Any opinion would be pure speculation.
