This is very rich and bucolic as a restful landscape.
But what gives it lasting value is not just that beauty, which anyone can find if they just get out of their neighborhood. What's a special draw is the intense purposeful detail in and around the boat in the shadows. With each visit so much more to discover.
This separates the picture from something pleasant to a work to revisit and have more to consider and be distracted by. That's a good muse!
