Fahim Mohammed: Earthenware

Fahim,

I love the lighting making the forms so interesting with the repeated rows of seemingly identical jars, each in fact, an individual work. I wonder about the choice of a vertical framing? It seems that this would have induced you to make horizontal compositions. So, I bet you have a lot more! Unless of course there was something to the right you wanted to protect us from seeing!

If we made a square of the lower portion alone, it would be a great concept for men in prayer at this particular time in the calendar.

Asher, when I first came upon this ' bakery ', the thing striking me was the narrow, long corridor strip, with the coin jars ( ? ) stacked along the length.

Instinctively I went for the vertical shot. Beyond to your right was nothing but stark harsh sunlight.

I was there for a very short time. This was the best I did at that moment.

Thanks for stopping by.

Fahim,

Where was this pot "factory"? What they produce is a common item that they would have such a large stock. I would be amazed if they had to pull everything back each night when they closed shop and then rebuild the display each morning!

I wonder if this can be for fluid as a way to keep it clean. The slot could allow air flow so that it could be filled or poured easily.

I do love the picture as it is. Just I'm and avid admirer of the opportunity. You did well! This one picture has many more within.

No, No all unsold items were left outside for the next day. The damage, if any, I am told is caused by cats and dogs.

Nepal.

again-beautiful! I would have loved to see this extended out more to the right- to show more of the depth-was there any more depth in the spread of the pots!
the colors are amazing- seems so "sun Baked" clay enforced sort of thing going on-

Charlotte...thanks for stopping by. was taken rather hurriedly and instinctively. the right side is stark, harsh, bright sunlight. I avoided that.
