5DMkII sample images

Hi guys and girls, Happy New Year. I got my 5DII last week and took some sample full res jgegs at various ISO settings yesterday. Lighting is through a window from the side in the fading late afternoon daylight. High ISO noise VR & sharpening turned OFF and all I did was rotate the images in PS. The model was my sons Chucky doll. Good old Chucky saved the day when nobody else wanted to co-operate. ;-)

Almost forgot, AV mode, camera hand-held as I couldn't find the tripod, Sigma 105 macro at f2.8.

BTW may I suggest that you send your camera back to Canon for some sensor replacement? it seems a bit… destroyed?

I pre-ordered on 9/22. I hope to have it this week if it can make it through with the holidays messing up delivery's. I'm leaving for Mexico Jan3 and I really want to take it with me.

Why do you say that Nicolas? I see no problems with the images up to ISO5000 at least, but I'd say ISO25600 and 12800 are unuseable and full of banding, noise etc. I didn't try it with NR turned on to see if it's any different, but the results are about the same as on two other 5DII's that I tried before buying.

Hi Steve,

If I'm not mistaken, it was Nicolas' way of making a joke since the doll of Chucky itself is a bit destroyed. His humor can be so dry that sometimes I wonder whether he has got any English ancestors after all!

Oh I think Nic(k) does have English ancestry - were not all wet you know

Oh, 6400 does look very clean. I'd be interested in seeing how a raw file handled.

Ah! yes Cem you got it exactly!

Except 2 points:
1- No English ancestor here (can't say that to a French sailor, LoL!)
2- Despite point 1, no wrath at all
