A strange Zeiss 150mm lens at work

Dr Klaus Schmitt

Got some rather strange Carl Zeiss Jena f4 (estimated) /150mm lens w/o aperture to test. No photographic lens
for sure rather from some other optical system, but funny to play with it. Wonderful sunny spring day it was...

Well, you do have a steady hand and the lens is under your control!

The detail on the bee is remarkable for this undefined Zeiss pedigree lens.

Klaus,

What seems to go across all your varied use of lenses in photographing flowers, is your grasp of the flower as an offering to the heavens.

No other photographer I know of has this motif built in to their approach to blooms and interaction with the sky. It's as if every molecule of the flower's being is dedicated to this offering of itself to the heavens.

.....and that is how it must be, for the insects to realize this is a special gift to them.

Hi Klaus. And apologies for being a tawdry member of late, no excuses, just ordinary reasons, you know a bit busy, a bit disenchanted with photography for the usual reasons (so hard to make it better than nice and into emotional) and being a curmudgeonly old bugger.

Klaus, your imagery is always gorgeous. You have a way of intuitively seeing art in nature, music in the visual palette. Keep bringing us your wonderful offerings.
