OK so I have to use my iPhone

After realizing that I travelled 6 hours through the mountains to photograph some new content in southern Mexico - getting there and realizing I left the charger at home with the battery from my camera —- I conceded to using my iPhone to grab my daily shots today. I have a small amount of juice left in the extra battery that I brought, and so will that energy for the beach tomorrow.

I headed out around the couple of blocks near our Hotel, a few minutes ago:

Some may conclude that a phone is more inconspicuous than a camera when shooting on the streets —- but look at the way everyone is looking at the camera - knowing I am taking and asking me to take their pics.

Maybe we could deduce that the phone is less threatening - although one young tough guy in the market did threaten me if I didn’t pay him a dollar. I didn’t pay and it turns out the shot I took of him, didn’t turn out anyway.

Lot of happy looking folks. It's understandable that locals would expect you to pay them something to take their photos. Compared to the average North American tourist they are very, very poor.

I have no problem paying them as long as I don’t have to take out a snatchable wallet!

But the. I might want to give them $10 and have a thumb print and signature on a Spanish language consent and release form.

I don’t see anything lacking! I would be so thrilled to have taken any one of these splendid and energized pictures. The only question is how large can they be printed superbly to be viewed at a distance of 20”?
