It was a really miserable day today - cold, wet, and dull - - - so I headed out for a drive to the beach on Lake Huron with my gear bag (I have lots of work to do, just didn't feel like doing it). I really wanted to challenge the claim of my E-3 and 12-60 along with 50-200 lenses weather proof sealing and ability. I also decided to try out the E-3's built in Black and White mode and used the Red Filter setting for at least some enhancement of sky.
I was really in a nostalgic mode and walking around in the rain and damp fully exposed, as well as shooting in B&W sure was a throw back to my Film Days. I really enjoyed it. Although I no longer have my darkroom to hide into for the afternoon and process my findings - I did try and maintain a mindset of working on these images as if I were in my wet darkroom - cropping, dodging, burning and other visual enhancements that were always part of my regime.
Here are a few - these were taken at midday today and were all shot with my Olympus E-3 and both the 12-60mm f2.8/4 and 50-200 f2.8/3.5:
1 )
2 )
3 ) This family were out in the rain too, at least for a few minutes
