Honestly, this early russian highest resolution chipmaking lens blew me away...

Klaus,

The humans in the first picture scratch at the potential of this lens. I hope you will do more people work.

The flowers are so sharp and the colors couldn't be richer.

How long have you had this? I don't remember work from this beauty before? What lens mount?

I presume you are only using it wide open.

Is there color film to take advantage of the resolution possible?

Asher, just picked up the the lens a few days ago, as it was waiting for me after my return from California after a long travel from Russia ;-)

It resolves 440lpm (line pairs per mm), approx 11.100 line pairs per inch, no wonder as it was made in the 70s for the battle about making
computer chips. Resolution was measured using russian MIKRAT film, one could use radiographic film, but then it would only b/w.

For your Bronica possibly another one I have woudl be better, as it has longer focal length and most likely a larger covered format...

If one did have such a combination, what do you think might be the equivalent "useful resolution" from such a camera shopping modern available color film.

it is always the weakest part in the chain which determines that. So lens x sensor / film is it. in this case I'd say it is the film ;-)

Well, Klaus, it comes to the difference between analog subtlety in low contrast fine detail and well defined pixels in digital. Perhaps with lens wide open and use of scanned images with great software, one can get better transitions.

If the sheet of film is larger than the digital sensor one can afford, then film might be an advantage.
