With my muse on the way to our paradise island

Nigel,

This is a great opening picture for a lifestyle editorial. Are you thinking of using this work commercially like that?

Also, I was so impressed with the B&W version of one of you model shots as it moved the picture from glamor to human interest and art.

Thank you Asher, I just take pictures for my own pleasure...no intention of using them commercially. I do not think I am good enough as I shoot what appeals when I am in the mood but would be lousy as a professional shooting anything to order (that's not false modesty but I know my limitations).

Do you plan to exhibit your work or else make books?

You put in a lot of effort not to end up with the pictures being fully utilized.....or is the pleasure of making the images sufficient?

Sure it would be very gratifying to have them printed nicely and exhibited. That would be reward enough. I do not need or look to make money out of it, but to have others appreciate them is very rewarding

Nigel,

Asher,
Perception is a funny thing...I never really consider any of my photos to be glamour as that is not what I am attempting to do. For me glamour suggests deliberate titilation which is all about the girl and revealing her sexuality...I never try to do that as I just see images in graphic shapes and compositions that are pleasing to the eye....more like fashion shots... my intention is never to titilate, or do soft pseudo porn, even when I am showing glimpses of my 'private' world.

For me it is all about observation, documenting of a slice of time, capturing a moment, and of course showing the lady in the best possible way without trying to get the viewer aroused. I think there are enough historical references of photographic 'masters' sharing their private moments with their muses or showing glimpses of a world most never see (even to people like Robert Mapplethorpe) and still being considered high art to back up my view of the world.

Although if glamour simply means making a woman look good and appealing, then guilty as charged.

I had no intention to use the term "glamor" in its meaning of a particular intention to stimulate, but rather as a natural property of a gem, to radiate!

I just refer to the quieting effect working in monochrome has in allowing us to see deeper into the image.
