Peter, these little things are magic!

A huge evolutionary set of adaptions gives us this incredible creature so that it can hover while sipping nectar so it has the energy to catch insects!

Amazingly circuitous path to do what other birds seem to do with less overhead. Or perhaps, needing less body mass to reproduce, the rapid wing movement is actually energy efficient compared to having larger wings and having to eat much more prey!

Yes I use a Better Beamer. They are certainly a curious evolutionary line.

The one bird I've never shot in flight. Tomorrow, perhaps. Nice capture.
