Default Griffith Observatory Los Angeles, CA. Hit or Miss?

Today I hiked up to the Griffith Observatory to take some photos of this Los Angeles icon. The Observatory has been closed for a few years for renovation and is now open to the public.

The Griffith Observatory's unique architecture and setting, compelling programmatic offerings, and cinematic exposure have made it one of the most famous and visited landmarks in southern California. Tens of millions have come to walk the inside of the building, view the live planetarium shows, or simply gaze out towards the coast and the heavens. This cultural and scientific icon owes its existence to the dream of one man, Griffith Jenkins Griffith, and to the dedicated scientists and public servants who worked to fulfill his vision of making astronomy and observation accessible to all.

All of the photos were processed with Lightroom beta 4.1 to my liking, and I hope yours too......

Hit or miss?

Brian,

Amazingly wonderful job! I love your compositions. This is so exciting to have people all over the world be able to enjoy this venerable L.A. landmark. Outstanding.

Here are two more from that day at the Griffith Observatory.

Again I used Lightroom beta 4.1 for PP.

My favorite is definitely #2. Who says you can't take good photos in harsh sunlight?
