No Smoking!

My son's friends know that I forbid smoking in my house's premises...however caught one of them
lighting up..

As a penalty he had to undergo my picture treatment.

What a handsome fellow you made of him! The narrow depth of focus puts attention on him as a man and that is appropriate. Attractive eyes with your catchlights. He does look a little guilty still but the photograph is a great opportunity to see himself on the web and what I write.

First I see you have a nice setup and from somewhere (walls, window, hairlight) you have a nice edge to his hair on his right. However, a very minor niggle, there could be more separation from the b.g. for his shirt. But for white against white, this is great! Kudos!

Now to you, young man,

You smoke! Today, with our knowledge, this is sad and tragic. Let me let you know that cigarettes are an invasion of the integrity of the body which god had given you. Its toxicity pervades every part of your body, damaging the tissues integrity and your genetic instructions and stability. Blood vessels which you need for your heart to work and your organs to function deteriorate. Cancer is caused in your lungs, throat, nasopharynx ,tongue and tonsils, gums and cheeks and floor of the mouth.

Your face will no longer be smooth. The toxins, pickle the skin and help aging it which with the bright son, renders subtle skin thin and full of lines lines. Sexually, you may even find function more challenging as you get older. Blood vessels need to be protected. The human body can heal, but all genetic insults are not repaired and vascular damage and cancer may already be recorded and the consequences get you trapped.

Do a search here in OPF for my dear friend Rodney Sheldon. He did what you did!

Fahim,

Providence had you take this picture, perhaps that will also lead at least a few to give pause and think about respecting and protecting their own bodies. Unlike nice shirts, one cannot just buy another for any price!

Heed Asher's advice..could save your life! ( 250k file )

Asher,

My appreciation to you for your words of wisdom. I shall show this to Yasser at the next opportunity.

I thought you might like to see the color version from the same session (!) to see the reason I
favor zeiss lenses. this is the zeiss zf 35mm f/2 at f4.

A bigger file is attached to better show the lens' rendition.

Once again, sir, my thanks to you.

Best.

Fahim,

I love the asymmetrical composition. Are you using a grey card? The shirt could be getting green from the plant. I'm not sure of the skin tone. Impressed by the way with the Saudi dentists; a great smile! What does he do? Seems like a nice young man!

Nicolas also likes to show off resolution. 100% cut outs can serve your purpose and then you might be able to get away with somewhat smaller files. That way, as your thread grows, the page will still load fast.

Thanks for continuing to give us pleasure in your very personal portraits!

dentists..very expensive.
the young guy is a banker, and his brother is a doctor and a collegue of my son.

i did not use any color balance on purpose. zeiss are generally cooler lenses, and the windows are tinted
and the venetian blinds add to the color cast.

thanks..i shall keep the 100% crop in my mind.

Thank you for looking. I love zeiss lenses. I am about to go on a trip to Istanbul, Turkey soon and
the zeiss zf 35/2 might be the only lens I shall take with me. Bad images would solely be my
lack of talent.

Best Regards.

Ah well, no matter how lovely an ashtray looks, one still doesn't want to kiss it, does one? There, that should do it. (Was that too mean?)

Fahim, your picture treatment is quite gentle really. If you smoke I will make a lovely picture of you is hardly punishment, but a gem none the less. Asher, you have steel in your words:)
