Wanted to share with you folks a piece of happy news. I have a grand daughter born this morning
in canada. Name is Reneem, which roughly means 'melody' in Arabic.

Happened a week before due date so we were not with the parents. Mother and daughter are doing
fine in Ottawa. We are flying Wednesday to be with them.

Too happy not to share with friends.

Well, this caught me by surprise, Fahim, but everyone else has been celebrating with you. I arrive late but still very enthusiastic.

Congratulations to the mother and father and the rest of the family. Child birth is still a miracle to me even though I've seen so many births. I always worry about the mother as it's a real risky part of raw life to go through. So I wish her an especially good post natal recovery and wonderful joy looking after your new grand daughter.

I'm sure that there are hundreds of pictures already! You just need to get some to us! Well start with one!

Good morning Fahim, What lovely news to wake up to! many congratulations to you and all your family.

Asher, this caught us by surprise too! we had planned to be there end of 1st week feb with a stopover
in paris.

Now we have hurriedly got a one stop ( 4 hrs ) in london to ottawa. long long flight for me. my daughter takes after me..she is the worst patient a doctor can have. but all is well.

Ameer ( son-in-law ) has already taken pics.

Hi Asher, from a cold and snowy Ottawa! lovely snowscapes.
The house is full of flower baskets from friends and family. ( allergies! )

After a very disturbed sleep, punctuated often by Reneem joyous crying ( my wife insists we sleep were
we can hear her without electronic gadgets! ), I am slowly trying to get adjusted to the jet lag.

Thanks for the 'feet' tip. mine or hers?
