Welcome Joe

I'm always impressed by pictures like this - it strikes me as quite a technical exercise and you have brought some lovely shots out of it.

Joe,

It's beyond comment!

Supercalifragilistichespiralidoso!

"it comes from these following words:
super- "above", cali- "beauty", fragilistic- "delicate", expiali- "to atone", and docious- "educable" with the sum of these parts signifying roughly "Atoning for educability through delicate beauty."

According to the 1964 Walt Disney film, it is defined as "what you say when you don't know what to say"." Source.

Welcome, Joe - very nice start to your participation at OPF.

In terms of learning and sharing, it's always helpful to provide some details on shots you post, such as when, where, and how, with camera gear, shooting specs, any particular post-processing steps, etc. And if you have any particular questions or issues that you would like addressed in the comments, that is very helpful as well.

Overall, I find this a very nice series. In terms of my own persoanl C&C, they are nice and sharp, which is critical to the success of this type of image. The contrast and saturation are perhaps on the heavy side, but this is a matter of personal taste. They seem a little 'dark' overall with the exception of the 3rd shot, so you might examine your histograms, and possibly tweak curves and levels, etc.

But these are relatively minor points in a wonderful visual essay on this hummer!

Hi Joe; welcome aboard.

Nice series. I particularly like the second one. Please show us some more.

Suggestions? For me, they are a little dark, contrasty, and saturated.

Hi and welcome, Joe!

I can see I'm going to enjoy looking forward to more of your fine images.
I'm not very good at offering critiques but I will have to go contrary to some of our fine member's comments - I like the darker, more contrasty tone.

Hope to see more of your efforts!

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome...as for the images being a little dark?...I always error on that side of the exposure...I guess it is a personal preference?

Thanks again.
Joe
