I'm new to this visitor message thing - all I know is private message!?

Anyway, I was farting around on facebook.com and noticed this "groups" feature - they are freely created so I took a stab at the group "Open Photography Forums"... well, long story short, the name was not taken and I promoted myself to "Chief Placeholder".

Now, I know I'm running out ahead with this, but I was curious if the concept of a group on facebook for those of us who are "there", that would help bring our community of names together with faces and lives?

What do you think?

I have finally got my new camera and took some pics on the weekend. I was wanting to post some of the photo's for feedback but it tells me Im not allowed to add attachments?
What should I do?

the new person Michael Ashura is a dear friend of mine. I told him of OPF- He is an amazing talented writer and now fairly new photographer-he is a retired shrink and a brilliant mind- You will enjoy banter with him- He runs a business and I don't know how much time he will have to spend in here but I love this place so much I had to bring him too- Just a heads up is all-

Charlotte yes I do see a similarity in yout Princess Pondering to a Dorothea Lange. I suppose it has a lot to do with the way you captured the natural look of the child undisturbed and without pretenses. I thought it refreshing to see this approach since so many resort to elaborate means in creating a simple portrait even of a child. Also the B&W treatment may have contributed to the nostalgic effect somewhat. Either way that was my first and initial impression. Was hoping that you would understand my comment and not be offended by it as someone with less understanding might have been. It was intended to be a praise of high order. How do I direct the members attention to my portrait page?
It surprises me what all people call "portraits". I liked it when you told somebody that some of their photos looked like event photos, not portraits.
Could there be a solely portrait category w/o equipment?
Anything going on with my posters?

I am working on a horror book cover for an entertainment group/publishing house in Denmark so I am trying color and collage like crazy-
if all turns out well I will have the cover art for a series of horror novels starting in a year
I have done some that a strange to say the least but thats what they want-it's daunting my friend-

I think this new feature is good, I was a little confused by it initially but like the idea, it would obviously be better if the other messages were not visible, just in case there was anything confidential...

Its a little confusing at first as I thought this is like a private webpage of a member, but it is more like a friends chat outside the fora, good idea! I was always wondering about a life chat function on OPF, that could be a fun place to meet once a week or so.

Asher: Someone suggested this forum to me as a place post a "for sale" on an Epson 9600. I don't want to just jump in the middle of a discussion forum unless it's appropriate. Is there a spot for such a posting somewhere here?
