Canon pricing games, here we go. 1dmkIII

I'm fairly sure that the 1D MK II was also listed at $4499 MSRP. Street prices fall after the initial surges. I'm sure the street price of the MK III will follow suit.

    Email for Rawshooter users

I got mine on the 21st. LR 1.0 is up and running without a hitch. Edit: I uninstalled the Beta and installed the trial version of LR 1.0. When I got the serial number from Adobe, I simply registered the trial version with the serial number without downloading it again via the email link.

    Question for DPP users

I normally don't use DPP, but have recently started playing with it. (v2.2) I'm a bit confused on how DPP handles color space. I have my default color space set to Adobe RGB. Assuming that I want to create converted RAW files to TIFF 16Bit with Adobe RGB imbedded profiles in one folder and...

    Ninja vs Noiseware

I own Neat Image and wasn't all that happy with the results. I experimented with Noise Ninja for a few weeks, then tried out Noiseware on a trial basis. I quickly decided that I liked the workflow and results that I got from Noiseware and purchased the ProVersion plugin. I am very pleased...

Boy on a Bicycle, Can RAW file. Optimize this! :)

Nikolai...excellent rendition. I had thought about going off the wall, but wasn't sure of the guidelines and how much creative latitude was allowed or encouraged. Nicely done!

Boy on a Bicycle, Can RAW file. Optimize this! :)

Processed with DxO, then moved to PSCS2 where I used a Nik Filter to increase the color of the foilage, used the shadow/highlight tool to regain some of the shadows from his face, added a text layer for the copywrite info, resized, converted to sRGB 8bit, added a 3px inside stroke around the...

    Phoebe

Thanks for the reply, Asher This is a female English Bulldog...she refused to give up 2 years for braces :) Yes, I intentionally framed this shot to be tight like this. This particular shot was done with a Canon 10D, manual exposure at 1/125, f/5.0, ISO 100, 70mm (EF 24-70 f/2.8L)...

Try your hand at Ron Morse's Moose Photo

The link is trying to open up as a QuickTimeMovie for me and I am unable to download it. I'm using Firefox. I'll try with IE in a bit and see if that's the issue edit: same issue with IE re: QT but at least I was able to right click and download.

Your photographs of the human figure

Intertwined: I am fascinated by the various lines and angles formed. My eyes roam over the image taking it all in. I immediately noticed the goose bumps and my first impression was to prefer to see them softened, but second thoughts came in and now I'm not sure. I like the contrast of his...

    Take Two

This is a self portrait that I did a few years ago then played with it in Photoshop

    Self-Portraits, accidental, semi-accidental or vain!

With the exception of the reflection (camera?) in the lower left, I find this to be a quite pleasing self portrait. It's moody, thought provoking, and different. In short, I like it.

    Greetings from Southern Oregon

Thanks for the warm welcomes everyone. Nicholas, I have just started playing with DxO. I'm using v4.0 Unfortunately, there's not a lot of information available for this tool, so I'm at the mercy of the included manual and my own willingness to explore.

    Greetings from Southern Oregon

Hi from Medford, OR. I've been an avid amateur photographer since buying my first 35mm SLR in 1976 (Canon AE-1). I later moved to a Nikon 8008. I ventured into the wet darkroom, focusing more on color than traditional B/W. My preferred medium was to shoot E6 positives, develop, and print...
