It would be nice if Canon would make a firmware update for the 1D-IIn that allows you to adjust the "low" frame rate as a menu adjustment rather than a "computer required" adjustment.
For example, I am shooting figure skating - senior and adult skaters benifit from 8fps (or even higher when shooting jumps/spins. Junior skaters have better jump/spin images when shooting at 5fps. For horse jumping, 3 and 4 fps seems to be optimal for high (1.5m or higher) jumps whereas 5-7 fps seem better for lower jumps (1m or so). This difference is cause by the basic characteristic of the sports.
Since such venues usually have all possible categories of shooting requirements, it would be VERY VALUABLE to have an menu selection that allows you to adjust the needed low FPS.
On the other hand, has anybody found a way to get around this limitation?
