The Vera C. Rubin observatory is presently the highest resolution digital camera on this planet, but with 2.8 metric tons it may be a bit too heavy to carry around. It delivered its first images yesterday: https://rubinobservatory.org/news/first-imagery-rubin

The main imaging is performed by a mosaic of 189 CCD detectors, each with 16 megapixels.
