A Portrait with long shadows

I had a surprise visit this evening as Victoria dropped in to view her last shoot. We were selecting pictures when I noticed the light on her face. The setting sun was throwing long shadows and several crossed her face.

Very nice shot - so naturally! But i would try to darken the hands, shoulder and neck a bit.

Thanks, Klaus for the kind words and suggestion. Of course my impulsivity trumped completion for printing!. "Good enough!", isn't", not for serious printing, nor the trained eye!

Hi Asher!

A beatyful face and very interesting light/shadows! The even light on hands and shoulders are a bit "off the scene". The shoulder gets big and the hands too present.
I also would straighten her back a bit (in Photoshop . . ;-) ).

But nevertheless: it´s a very find shot!

Thanks Klaus! What did you do? There's perhaps a little too much red on the hands. but you certainly dealt with the issues.

I like the idea, but indeed look at the reds on the hand.
Shadow play is always fun and interesting to look at, you did that well.

Hi Asher, hi Frank!

I added some shadows by painting them onto a new layer and blending the layer by "multiplication" at 20%.

Due to the movement she made, her back looked a bit "unelegant" to me ;-) - so i straightened it a bit.
I think she looks more upright this way . . (but this is a very personal thing - i´m a perfectionist sometimes when it comes to human proportions . . ).

The red is in the shot - it´s becoming more visible, when it´s darker. I desaturated it a bit in the actual version.

I appreciate especially the back. I do this with stomachs but I have never thought of doing this here becuase I was looking too much at the face. Anyway, I did not think of it and you have helped me.

LOL, red on here hands? Straighten her back? What are you guys like? <grins>

I mean come on.... LOOK at these eyes!!!!! Whatever you do there, you can not make that any better. This Lady has filled the photograph with everything that is needed to provide you with a outerwordly stunning shot, scratch photoshop, leave it original.
