A Swiss Journey

I have posted more images than I care to remember about our hikes/climbs/treks in the Swiss Alps.

Permit me to share with you some images from our travels ( some of which you might have seen ) across the regions of this beautiful country. During various seasons.

We shall go north/center/south/east/west in no particular order. Snow and Alps are difficult to avoid in Switzerland, but we shall try..

Hi Fahim

Like the black and white and am intrigued by the second - the lamp and water fountain - those energy saving green glowbulbs are everywhere

Switzerland is a most beautiful place. This one picture is so surprising in lightness and delicacy, almost impressionist! How did you do it? Also, why not sort them according to some scheme?

I really like the one with the two gents on the bridge.

It would be good without them, but with them, plus the Swiss flag, it's really outstanding.

Thank you. Sort them? Our travels were unplanned..spur of the moment decisions. A couple of days in Geneva..jump on a train head off to Davos on the way to Lugano; Glacier Express to St. Moritz, jump off in Interlaken..stay in Zermatt. Cross into Italy along lake Como or step across the road in Geneva and into France. Eat at the base of Mont Blanc. Screw it..lets stay the night in Chamonix.

Sort them, how? This is a random travel diary, not even by date!

The image you refer to is in Geneva..Lac Leman along the promenade. Instead of the fountain, I took this shot. Filter thru a paint program ( don't remember which ). WA lens..the D300 and the Nikon 12-24/f4.

We are on a holiday..Flying into Switzerland is planned. The rest..whatever and whenever we fancy.
Our kind of holiday..unless someone wants to go mountain climbing!!

Regards.

Bob, appreciate your encouraging comment. Thank you.

This is Zurich. Arguably the best city on the continent.

Regards.

Ah, Sue bought me a pair of Miyabi knives last year, which are Japanese and made in association with Henkels. Beautiful Japanese knives.

Fahim,

The order of taking pictures, is one thing. Order of presentation is another.

It's just nice to have the delicate flowery images together no matter where they come from geographically. Having material sorted like that adds to the value of each individual shot. Our experience through your eyes is so much stronger. Yes that's a paradox, since time is jumbled but feelings of one image supports the next in a theme-linked series.

Don't change what you do. We're happy to see you pictures in any order. At the end, perhaps I can pick some favorites that go together, connected by some idea or motif. But why am I so pushy and impossibie? Just remember the words of that pretty woman leaning in the darken door, "Why not ask for more!" So that's why I look at your work for these connections. I try to see beyond vacations to collections. Sometimes, I'm right, sometimes not!

Fahim,

It's amazing how you move from etherial Monet to hard intellectual street work. This picture, with the man, cut-off, is startling; harsh and thought provoking in three steps, ugly, empty and pensive.

My interested is piqued. As your pictures are revealed, I'll be on the look out for any possible siblings to this isolated view you've shared here.

Mood swings Asher. Pre-senility syndrome.
