In Perspective, Fun: About 20 years too early

This is one of a series of photos I took of my wife Elisabet in 1984 with clothes I borrowed from a store in Kings Road, Chelsea from a friend of mine who owned the store. They were never published and just for our own fun and pleasure. I will add others from this shoot and it is uncanny how contemporary they look and the clothes I borrowed were way ahead of their time.

She's wearing a leather baseball cap and red hoodie style jogging clothes. This kind of fashion was really 'unheard of' back then (for those of us who were around back then and knew the fashion game...for those who were not, just trust me :) )

I am too young to remember the fashion industry back then... I was only 3. However it's interesting to see that something similar to that would probably sell for a large sum today. Is the white lining attached to the hoodie or is it an extension of the hat? That is the only part of the style that I find odd but only because I'm really not sure what the pieces are of the ensemble. You did very well lighting her face considering she was wearing a baseball cap. I look forward to seeing more of the series Nigel. Thanks for sharing!

Actually the cap was very cool and wouldn't look out of place today at all. It had a detachable section that came down over the ears with a sheepskin-style lining ( a bit like a Russian hat) attached with poppers like you see on the brim and the part under the chin was also part of the cap, not the hoodie.

If I recall correctly I would have tried to expose for her face and you can see the flash reflected in her eyes (nothing fancy). This is as shot apart for a lttle cleaning up in PP of dust specs during scanning

Thanks for your comments and interest, Jameson
