After Ashers comment

The other day Asher made a comment in another thread that reminded me of a picture I took a couple of weeks ago when out walking the dog. The graffiti was on a recycling bin, and I'm still thinking about whether to take the picture any further.

Quote Asher

When people pass, have you ever wondered whether they know that their purpose may simply be to reproduce. A lawyer, doctor or supermarket counter lady might think otherwise but we are just supposed to produce offspring! Horrible isn't it.

As Mike has shown, nature can be awfully efficient. These organisms look as pretty as anything any fashion store can make and they have no need for brains to even think about their purpose. The are down to the bare essential and that is sex.

The petal is nothing but a beautiful dress with scent and nectar to seduce the honey bees and other insects to carry the pollen to bring the male essence to the flowers uterus. It's that simple. The bee is seduced into completing the sex act for the flower! That is so amazing in that so much of our lives and food depends on that little insect.

Not congruent with my view on life, but I thought it was an interesting insight into someone's mind and hopes - or otherwise.

Any thoughts are welcome.

Mike
