Once a day I make an effort to ride my bicycle; somewhere. For an hour or so.
I do it because I feel the need to. I get my pulse going, heart working hard, muscles coordinated, body balances, pain dissipated by Adrenalin and other chemicals released by all sorts of endocrine structures.
Then I think.
Occasionally I come across a new view of my domain. An undiscovered path tempts me to turn right. Out here there is no one but myself to warn me of dangers. Getting. Lost is easy with few familiar landmarks. There are countless snakes, spiders, nesting birds, wild dogs, and a variety of mammals less welcoming.
Then there’s the chance of a fall. On the list of things that kill people, falls ranks eight from the top. I bare the scars of my personal statistic.
I am often amazed that others have been this way and left their mark.
like art, this has its creators story and I have mine.
I pause to record. The story will unfold as I find my way home.
this path is not shown on the gps or visible on google earth. I’ll need to follow the black cockatoos.
