Met my friend Mark out at the Wetlands Sunday morning. Roads where all closed, we had to hike it. While I was waiting on Mark, this Anhinga came out of the water in front of me. I felt he deserved his own post based on the size of that dam fish!

Well, Eric,

These are amazing pictures. What a good catch for both the bird and you too! This set of images is a good lesson on the nature of dinosaurs! This is really so primitive and powerful. No need for teeth! Now take a creature like this bird and imagine how it must have been with teeth too!

Maybe it was judged as a case of eat or be eaten. It's a good catch indeed!

These birds do swallow bigger prey than we'd expect to fit their slim necks.
