Went to the pond for more practice, this time with the K20D and my "new" Pentax Super Takumar 300mm f/4 lens. I used a higher shutter speed with these to capture the wings at the expense of some DOF.

Hi Steve,

You should consider using a sharpening tool based on (de)convolution principles for images like the first one. I am a fan of focus magic, which does a great job. Smart Sharpen in PS is a great tool too if you have PS already. I have used focus magic on your web sized image (including the jpg artifacts) but the results will be much better if you use it on the original picture.

Thanks for the tips on sharpening Cem. I've been using Lr and I did add some sharpening. There may be some OOF areas because the DOF was so shallow. I have a lot to learn about post processing.
