Bardot versus Napoleon: Appreciate them for what?

This was originally here and is best on its own.

Bardot?

Oops! That gets us into politics!

The sex departed decades ago! Her iconic fame sailed into the sunset well before digital appeared!

Bonaparte, now he will last for ever as an icon, where his French leadership more than made up for his arrogance!

One used her fame and power of beauty to degrade human values preferring weasels and badgers to the value of man, while the other, almost a hobbit, made the French hard-won honor to all men, the currency of civilization!

Worse he was a master of the sea, she vomited into it in 1997! Actually this same beach, LOL! Sums up her importance!

LoL!
You're pretty right about her… however she remains for a lot of French beauty and sex appeal icon as well as her defence o f baby seals, they prefer not to hear her political talks extreme rightist…

About Napoleon Bonaparte, personally, I'm not a great fan either!

About Napoleon,

His legacy is the Louvres store of art and the "Rights of Man" debated and approved by the French Assembly, forced on to Europe and then adopted by all the modern world. That, latter legacy alone makes him one of the most valuable fathers of modern concepts of the worth of each of us. Can't beat that!

Nope Asher!

The "Déclaration des droits de l'homme et du citoyen" has been adopted and voted in the French National Assembly, right after the revolution on August 26, 1989
Napoleon at that time was still in Corsica!

Nicolas,

The French know that they, not Napoleon realized the rights of the citizen. But outside of France, Royal families, landed gentry and the Churches still held the power for themselves alone. If not for Napoleon, the brilliance of the Parisian thinkers would just stay there, like French Champagne and baguettes!

Despite all the corruption, mistaken use of power, Napoleon FORCED Europe to take the first steps up the ladder to raise the worth of serfs in Russia and Jews throughout Europe that emancipation was their rightful expectation.

It was Napoleonic system of laws that allowed the rest of us to benefit from the best of the bloodiest debates of France! For me by that, (his autocratic establishment of French law in newly conquered territories), is so valuable for all of humanity, that even his worst military and administrative transgressions can be forgiven by history!

My first thought was surprise that Napoleon was familiar with Buddhism, then remembered that Bardot spelled with a T is totally different than the one without.
