Best focusing screen for f/8?

Hello,

Those of you following my antics with the old Tokina 800mm f/8 lens I started using, may have anticipated this question: Which Canon 1-series focusing screen will give me the best manual-focusing accuracy with this long lens, keeping in mind the f/8 maximum aperture?

The split prism (usually my low-low-light friend) is of no use, as with an f/8 lens, the prisms simply black out. So, at this stage, I am using the relatively fine, relatively bright, standard screen fitted to the 1D MkII N.

Is there a better option out there? I don't even mind losing a bit of brightness (it's not *that* dark in the viewfinder) but I need accuracy, it's a beast to manual focus, and at a range of, say, 300m, I still make mistakes of 5 - 10m or more despite my best efforts. Most of the screens only work well at large apertures.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, thanks. Quite humurously, the lens has a good distance and depth-of-field scale, but how somebody could actually accurately judge distances at these distances is beyond me.
