Nicely executed descriptive photos of two birds. No particular qualities other than the technical ones which seem to be appropriate for the occasion.

I'm jealous of the physical stamina of anyone who can regularly hold a heavy lens to track birds like this.

If I wanted to license pictures for some composite, then these would extract well from the b.g. One technical point is that the edges, at least in these small jpg files, seem to have an over sharpening halo. I always mask after sharpening and hide at least 50% of the sharpening so as to minimize the halo effect.

Must be the jpeg compression as I only did minimal local sharpening on the bird's face and even less on the wings and tail. It also could be due to a part of the process I am currently trying to refine. I'll check on the psd.
