Blue Moon

This may be my only opportunity to shoot the blue moon as we have a forecast of clouds and snow the next few days. Taken on 12/29/09 at 2205 MST with a Pentax K20D, DA* 300mm f/4 + F 1.7x TC, 1/40s @ f/8, ISO 100. As always C&C is welcome.

Steve,

I'm always blown away by the simple wonder of our moon. I'm so impressed that one can get such good imagery with standard off the shelf optics. What's the basis for the lines that appear to meat at the "pole"?

It's not just the round sculpture in the sky, it's also responsible for our tides and the level of water around our coastlines. Without that moon, what would life be? Certainly, a lot or romantic and hunting opportunities would be lost.

I don't know what happened to your original image! First I saw it then it vanished! So I merged your two threads to have one moon at least!
