Marvelous work Chris!

This is the first time to have seen a bluebird.

Is this set by chance or you worked out where they might be or read a report in a birders group of a local sighting?

Allabiutbirds.com says

“Marvelous birds to capture in your binoculars, male Eastern Bluebirds are a brilliant royal blue on the back and head, and warm red-brown on the breast. Blue tinges in the wings and tail give the grayer females an elegant look.”

Chris,

So these, my friend, are presumably of a solitary male?

These are all the same male of a mating pair. Interestingly enough, while they both hunt for food for the fledglings both parents are rarely seen together until the babies clear the nest. This nesting pair has come back to the nesting box for 6 straight years. The impetus for the shots is to practice using my new Nikon Z7 II with a 100-400 Z mount lens. The distance from where I shot outward is about 35 feet and 35 feet up. As you can see by the first two shots, at 53MP, cropping is still pretty decent for detail.
