Boredom frames

Sometimes I go out to shoot out of boredom when I am not inspired or on a mission. Then I come back home with this kind of images, uninspired and boring as can be expected. Why post it here then? Cos I've got nothing better to do right now and perhaps it might interest somebody out there after all. Just go ahead and sue me! ;)

For sure, Cem, the transition between dark and light is neither trivial nor boring, LOL!
This portal connects an old grand, fort-like architectural space with a small street. The doors are massive and reinforced with decorative iron bars. Such a design might be new but could also be 500 years old!

The person leaving and making it to the brightly lit street, appears to be a well-to-do young man. I agree that he, himself is not too interesting, but the store across the road is a mystery. We'd love to know what it sells!

Very interesting Cem ! The starburst at the top of the frame looks like a camera with a flash going off. Amazing to me !

Thanks guys.
Asher I don't know what that shop sells to be honest. Your description of the situation is quite apt indeed. Good observations as usual.
James the star burst is a large halogen lamp to light the passage.

This is an interesting image Cem !

How did you read the light ? Have you gone there at the open area at the bottom and came back with the readings ?

Well done ! A double frame ! :)

Hi Antonio,

Thanks for commenting. I've used the camera on aperture priority along with the matrix evaluation mode. I've then corrected the exposure by some 1-2 EV , can't remember how much but it should be in the exif data. Then in the post processing, I was able to correct the highlights and lighten the shadows when converting the raw file. This is the advantage of using a camera (Nikon D800 in this case) whose sensor can capture a maximum dynamic range of 14 EV. One does not need bracketing very often. With my old 5D II, I wouldn't get this without bracketing for example.
