Breakfast scene

This was just a casual grab shot of Carla at the breakfast table in a sports bar and grill near our hotel in New Orleans.

When I looked at the shot, I was taken by its possibilities for composition.

Here's what I decided to do with it:

This has flash fill from the onboard flash unit in the Powershot SX20 IS.

She had no idea I was about to shoot (I will normally announce, "This is picture"). Her expression: "Hmm, I wonder where our breakfast is."

Yes, she is always "on".

Best regards,

Doug

A brilliant "Grab"! What an elegant lady you discovered! Amazing to me that I really don't mind the fragments of people on either side. This is a good example of ignoring the rules to get a more informative picture. We've enough of them to know they were there but then not important.

With a lesser subject and pose, your picture would be lousy! As it is it works beyond most snaps. Kudos to you both!

Doug, the breakfast room and the image is indeed because of the lady!

Lovely timing to boot.

My regards to you both.
