Hi Paul,

As usual, my compliments on the composition. Your use of Black and White is very good, although I wonder how it might work as an inspiration for you to include color as a compositional element. I know it's not easy because with static subjects the colors are pretty much a given where gray tones can be manipulated to add to the composition afterwards. However, exacly because it is not easy, relatively uncharted territory might also spark some new creativity. Do not give up on you B/W work though, I love it!

Cheers,
Bart

Thanks for your compliments, Bart.

I do sometimes check out a colour rendition from time to time on certain images of mine, but mostly I reserve that treatment for more graphic images or where colour is much more important within the image, which is key to being shown.

I did just recently get an initial image for another project, which is in colour but tweaked to resemble an old colour film look. I thought I would have a go at tackling that project with the use of colour.

Anyway, the image is here: http://www.openphotographyforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13928

Hi Paul,

I like the creative and meaningful composition in this photo, and the light is superb.

The contrast of the modern building in the bg is a nice touch that brings Mr. Nash to life.

Cheers,

Ruben

Paul,

As with David, in your previous thread, you have discovered a unique angular view which embeds your subject in a geometric matrix and the result is magnetic. I was wondering what the follow up to David might possibly be! Well now I have no more anxiety. You simply can do the magic with an entirely different setting and they are immediately siblings. Kudos once again!

Thanks, Ruben. Long time no see, by the way. :)

Thank you, Asher. The simple angles of all the stonework is what attracted me first and foremost into composing this image. I was hanging around here summing it all up, and that lance of sunlight just came through for me, it was most fortunate.
I liked how it highlighted his countenance, a countenance of support maybe?

Now for another, I hope...

Regards.
