Camera clubs and thinking outside of the box.

Hi,

My local camera club has a monthly theme which in each member may choose to participate. The idea is really to get the beginners to actually take some shots, especially of subjects that they wouldn't normally consider. The photos are then displayed and discussed amongst the members.

This week's theme is "weather". I think it could be hard to take a picture that epitomises this subject so I've created an image to show people that it's perfectly possible to think "out of the box". It's just a bit of fun - I took the photos on Monday evening using a club member as the model, and did the post processing last night.

I thought I'd share it here. It's called "Jamais content avec le temps" (Never happy with the weather).

I like it!

The rectangular design and the choice of colors are great. It's simple and well executed. where did you get the costumes? did you grab clthes from anyone around? The model is very sporting and obviously you guys had a great time. Shows that men can do without women for at least one hour!

I'd imagine that if the picture on the botton right didn't serve to anchor us to present reality, the other images would not work so well. As it is, you have done very well. Did you win?

Hi Asher,

They aren't really costumes. He just came along with a some different clothes and we took the images in my home studio. It took about 2.5 hours to get the 4 images, half an hour of which he was on a bike trainer working up a sweat for the summer picture!

Well, it won't be shown until tomorrow night, but in any case it isn't a competition, the themes are there to encourage the members to experiment with their photography. We have many "fragile" members who simply wouldn't participate in a competitive environment.
