Chris,

I must admit preference for the B&W as there are no distractions from the shape of the architecture and it fits so well with the landscape, almost as a great dog on a cliff barking at the ocean!

Who owns that home. Is it in some national trust? The railings on the balcony have seen better times!

Can the contrast of the house be increased a tad with good effect?

I prefer the colour image. I like this, it has a simple charm and contrast...
That roof is saying something to me about the ocean...it's a 'wave' gesture I feel. :)

I would hazard a guess that this image would make a nice proposition in photographing coastal buildings and retreats in a certain style...

Thanks everyone for the comments. I liked the shot from the beginning and a month later, letting it just rest for awhile, I find I still like it quite a lot. The subtle colors in the house blend in so nicely with the misty fog and both contrast so nicely with the rocks and foreground. A smiley face for me, for sure.
