Jake,

This is very colorful graffiti but difficult to read! Is this recognizable to anyone? They put a lot of work into this so it must say something, LOL! In Minnesota is it really called "Chine Town" as opposed to Chinatown? Or is that the name of the company?

Asher, I was curious so I started googling (nothing new with me, I'm curious so Google is one of my best friends. ) I could see that the big name seemed to be a bubble font and looked like Oister to me.

I found a graffiti tagger called oister and have found tons of tagged buildings and trucks by the guy. There is an evolution in his style, where I believe this truck is an earlier less fancy type of writing. There is also what I belive is a SW on the left side but not 100% sure. The reason for this is either searches says he is "swerv "( Don Vito) , Who tags with a SW or he tags with a guy by this name. They are often together in searches, although the SW has changed a lot also, again why I think this is an earlier version. He (or they) would mostly tag in the Bay Area, San Francisco. At first I thought I was on the wrong track, reading your post with Minnesota, but when I went to Jake's flickr image, I noted he had images in the Bay Area, ergo, I think I am right and the links to images tell the same story. Posts seem to show tags going all the way back to 1999 and still new tags as of 2012.

You don't have to look at them all, just a few will convince you, I think
I didn't post the actual images here, as they are not mine to post.

there are even further indications that Oister has also tagged as Oyster and as Oyst. and as Oist. You can tell that the writing is the same. Once you get started looking you can turn up so much information.

Yeah, so I got a little carried away on this little graffiti adventure and even if I'm the only one that cares, it certainly was fun.

That was substantially more information than I was expecting! I had no idea about the output of grafitists .

I like seeing this kind of photo - the mixture of something that could have been anywhere with a few identifying details.
