Critique Desired....Waterfall...PA

Another shot from the Delaware Water gap,PA.

WE got to this waterfall,and it was an extremely bright day,blazing sun,and somewhat hot.

What I was trying to get here,was the sharpest details I could ,and try to convey the actual feeling of the wetness of the water,so when someone looked at the image they could almost feel the water
touching their skin.

I'm not so sure I conveyed that message,so,I'm asking you ,to give me some suggestions ,as to how ,I can better this photograph.

Is there too much going on here?
Is it too busy/crowded with elements I don't need??
Are parts of the image too dark???

Any help would be appreciated,
