Took this at an outdoor photo shoot during a photography studio opening. The sky was overcast. Took this with a on-camera mounted flash. Put up to this 'Portrait in Natural Light Especially!' instead of the other since there isn't really external lighting setup.

Thanks for the C&C

Eugene Ye: Desiree

Hi Eugene,

Depending on the number of photographers it can be a challenge to compose the way you want and I haven no idea what lens you had as the EXIF has been lost! The cropping off of the top of her head is fine if you wish to have her peering through a small space to look at us intimately. I am surprised though that her hands are cut off. I'd rather then consider cropping away the lower third.

Thanks for sharing.

Asher

BTW, Did you take any full length shots or just head and shoulders?

like it

I like her attitude, not too flirty but sexy anyway...It's a pity for the hands :) I think It would have add some "humanity" to the model eg: I'm not shooting just the sexy parts...And I'm not sure about the "invisible" bra straps... As a woman I never wear them because I think it's even worse when you think it's invisible but everyone sees them. I prefer the good old ones :). Anyway if she can put on invisible one is that she can remove them (girl stuff, you can't understand :) ) But everything is better than a gifted girl with no bra (I've seen some in my retouching work!)

My point!
PS: very nice model, she's beautiful (I love her hair)

Sandrine,

I think I know why you like her so much; she's Bridgette Bardot. That's built into our library of iconic beauties,:attitude, pouting posture, but not immodest. As you are French, "Puff!", you are gone with this lady, LOL!

Asher

Never thought of Barbot, needs a further thinking (to me). But BB is such a controversial person theses days that it's bold to associate her with an "Asian" looking person... (BB now more or less belongs to the national Front)

Points taken, thanks :)

Something about cropping is that I am wondering whether I should always maintain a proper ratio. For example, if I crop out the 1/3, should trim the width as well to balance it to a commonly used ratio?

I didn't take much photo of this lady (Ms Desiree), and I didn't take any full length as I was using a tele and there was a crowd of photographers. Oh, I was using 70-200.

[EXIF]
apeture: f3.2
shutter: 1/640 sec
ISO: 200
focal length: 90mm

Concerning the cropping and the ratio I was more on the square side
here's my try...
Nude model without any nude at all :)

But now I found out that the right side goes weird...
