Digital negatives - Analog printing

How many have tried to marry the two.. analog and digital.. together?

Currently there are two main systems for the calaibration of digital negatives.. Dan Burkholder's (the pioneer) http://www.danburkholder.com/ , and and Mark Nelson, precision digital negatives http://www.precisiondigitalnegatives.com/ .

I started off with Dan's method, but have moved to Mark's.. which provides much smoother midtones in platinum prints. I use the negatives for platinum/palladium printing.

Anyone else out there??

I haven't tried it myself but I do own a couple of pt/pd prints produced using Burkholder's process on rag paper and I love them - they retain all the romance of a true old film look and traditional printing.

Kevin, I'm overjoyed that you post here. I am so keen to have analog photography nurtured in any way possible. Unfortunately most phtographers todat have never seen an image appearing in the red light of a darkroom. Platinim prints seem so exotic. but all these are still here!

I appreciate that you make available a tool to help printing in B&W be integrated with the digital world.

I'm hoping we'll now get examles of prints. I guess photographs of the prints would be needed to appreciate the tones. Any offers anyone?

Maybe I have to come to Silicon Valley to see what you do!
