Images created in an all but impossibly small space. While doing a magazine shoot in a mansion here in Las Vegas we discovered this tiny little Doll house play area built in a secret room under the stairs. Literally the room was about 6' wide and 4' deep and at its highest point was barely 52" high. It was accessed through a small hole in the wall covered by a hidden door.
Inside it was all wonderfully pink and was lit with but a single 15 watt candelabra bulb in a little wall sconce lighting fixture with a shade made of crystals woven on wire. So not one to forsake a challenge for a great shot we decided to do a quick session in this diminutive space.
While the tiny model Lanei was abler to fit quite snugly in the tiny doll house I myself am a man of 5'10' and ap[round 250 pounds. As a result I shot these after crawling onto the space and laying on my belly. With no room for lighting I upped the iso to around 6400 and grabbed the nifty 50 f/1.8 and proceeded to shoot with the available whispers of ambient light. WHite balance was of course a nightmare as the light all had this ethereal rose hue to it from the pink walls, carpet and accessories in the space. WHile the color versions of the shots ended with their own appeal I fell in love with the conversions so here are a few for your enjoyment as well.
