OPF does not remove professional posts. By having real names and no handles to hide behind, "hit and run" remarks are inhibited. We are however very protective of the tone of the forum.
This we are pleased to report has worked perfectly and a thanks is due to everyone for the wonderful atmosphere.
Just a reminder. This is not directed specifically to anyone here.
It is preferable for posters NOT to delete. On reflection, harsh comments might be redacted, or errors corrected. This is especially important when detailed points are made in methodology or gear ddiscussions. If your proposed change might change the integrity of the thread, ask the moderator first.
If deletions do occur, make sure some brief note replaces it with enough of the sense to make the thread unbroken. One of the special parts of the design of OPF is the clear understanding that OPF has "use rights" of posts but posts remain the property of the author.
If a deletion is substantial, then our "use rights" and the forum suffers. The problem is that some writers write well! I think gems might better be expanded on elsewhere, not removed.
The title of OPF was carefully made. This is an open forum and therefore the Team prefers to see self-regulation and common sense.
