Elk in Cherokee, N.C.

Those are great...
We have Roosevelt elk here in Sequim, WA. and I need to go out & get more pictures of them.
I haven't had much of a change lately.
Our elk radio ahead when they cross Hwy 101.
It's a project that was set up in 2000 to help them cross safely.
Radio collars on them work well.
I just looked & I have taken any pictures of them since Feb. 2020

Fascinating those Elk radio-collars!

Are they automatically switched on near the highways or they’re on all the time?

it would seem an open temptation and almost an invitation for hunters to easily track and shoot them!

It’s so important that we get to share these treasures as otherwise they will be taken for granted!
