Even More Leaves?

James Lemmon's recent post, "More Leaves?" must have jogged a gear or two in my old head. Most leaves are now on the ground in the US Midwest, yet potential leafy compositions seemed to be everywhere as I walked through a local woods yesterday morning. It was mostly cloudy and the light was flat and not particularly helpful. So, it was a good time to enter the always reliable but seldom successful make-something-out-of-nothing mode.

This is one of the very few images from yesterday that didn't immediately wind up getting cosigned to the digital trash bin.

Tom,

You've always had an appreciation for rust and old timbers! Here, this latest example, I'd recognize as your work, once more. It's a pleasure to see steadfastness in esthetics. You have a good vision to the world.

The leaf added to your motif set, extends the richness and is delightful!

Weathered wood, rusty wire and a fall leaf. Nothing wrong with that. May not be the highest art, but looks good and would sell.

Very nice, Tom. It looks like it fell there just waiting for someone to notice how beautiful it was. Here, everything comes together wonderfully, the old wood, the rusted wire and the fading leaf. You have composed it to keep these elements together to create something quite beautiful. Nice!
:)
